Guitarist Carlos Santana became unwell on Tuesday night during a performance in Michigan. The 74-year-old musician was treated on stage for a while and eventually taken away by ambulance personnel. His manager has told People that Santana is doing well.
“He was overwhelmed by the heat and became dehydrated,” said a spokesman for the guitarist. Santana has been transferred to a hospital where he is being watched, but he is doing well. At the beginning of December he had to cancel performances because of a heart operation.
Several visitors to the concert report on Twitter that Santana fainted during his performance. The rushed medical staff stretched sheets to keep the guitarist out of sight of the fans.

According to the visitors, Santana was treated there for at least ten minutes, which caused great concern in the room.
Finally, Santana waved to the worried fans as he was driven off the stage on a stretcher, to which loud applause erupted.
A performance scheduled for Wednesday will be postponed.
