candidates for Eurovision – The Dutch selection committee of the Eurovision Song Contest considered sending the last winner of The voice of Holland, Dani van Velthoven, to Turin this year. That told the singer Saturday to RTV Purmerend. “I was in the last four,” he declared.
Van Velthoven, who nowadays performs under the name Dany, was initially reluctant to tell the story. “I’m never so sure if you can talk about this kind of thing,” said the singer after being asked if he would like to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest.
The committee eventually chose the song The Depth of S10. Van Velthoven would like to try again and plans to send in another song next year. “It’s really a dream to do Eurovision, but I want to pop,” said the singer.
Van Velthoven won the eleventh season of The voice of Holland last March. The artist, who was coached by Anouk, is still the last winner of the talent show. The twelfth season has been on hold since January when reports of transgressive behaviour behind the scenes of the program came out.
